# Email

> Send emails from your own domain with your branding, and check every automatic email Ecco sent.

Ecco sends automatic emails to guests, such as check-in instructions, and keeps a read-only record of each send.

## Getting connected

Open **Configuration → Email**.

**1. Set the sender**

Under **Sender**, enter a sending subdomain, such as `send.yourhotel.com`, and select **Connect domain**. It does not affect your existing mailboxes. Add the DNS records shown on screen with your domain provider, then select **Verify**. The status changes to **Verified** when emails start going out from your domain; DNS changes can take some time.

**2. Add your branding**

Under **Email branding**, upload your logo, choose your brand color, write the footer, and enter the **Reply-to address** where guest replies should arrive. Check the preview, then select **Save branding**.

**3. Write the messages**

Write the text of each automatic email in [Schedules](/how-to-use/schedules).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Until your domain is verified, emails go out from Ecco's address without your logo.

## Sent emails

Open **Conversations**, then the **Email** tab. **Sent emails** lists the automatic emails sent to guests and group contacts. Search by guest, email address, subject, or booking.

Open an email to see exactly what was sent, its attachments, and its delivery status:

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Sent** | Ecco sent the email. |
| **Delivered** | The email reached the recipient. |
| **Delivery delayed** | Delivery is taking longer than usual. |
| **Not delivered** | Delivery failed. |
| **Delivery not verified** | The send is recorded, but delivery could not be checked yet. |

Select **Refresh status** to check the latest result.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Delivery to the recipient does not confirm how an external system, such as a booking portal, displays the email.

## Group emails

When a group books several rooms, Ecco can send the group's contact person (the Owner) one email with the room access instructions as a PDF. These sends appear under **Group emails** at the top of **Sent emails**.

Open a group email and select the file under **Attachment sent to the Owner** to download the PDF. Ecco keeps the PDF for a limited time after the stay; afterwards the email shows **Attachment is no longer available in Ecco**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Group emails are visible to team members with access to the whole property.

Write the text of the group email and PDF in **Schedules → Mews group access**. See [Schedules](/how-to-use/schedules#group-access-messages).

## Common questions

> **Does editing a message change emails already sent?**
>
> No. Sent emails stay exactly as they were sent. Your changes apply to future sends.

> **Can I reply to guests from the Email tab?**
>
> No. The Email tab is read-only. Guest replies arrive at the reply-to address you set in **Configuration → Email**.
